Let's Have an Honest Conversation About Maturing in Faith

 I really wanted to call this message GROW UP! But this seems so rude. I'm not really into yelling at you to grow up. I know that it is hard work and often we are not prepared for it, OR well supported. Honestly, I want to have a real conversation about the importance of growing in your faith and how the goal of the Christian life isn't to win, but to finish. 

So many start. So many give Jesus a chance. So many say a prayer or raise their hand to give their life to Christ, but no one tells them what to do next. Few tell anyone how hard it is to follow Christ when life gets harder than before. 

There are lots of promises and false hope out there, but the truth is, it will not sustain you. Wearing your church girl tee to Target will not be enough to carry you through deep loss or a devastating crisis. What we all need is a friend like Paul who will cheer us on and remind us that the goal isn't winning, it's finishing.
